Detachment Perciformes (perciformes)
Pomacentridae family (pomacentridae)
This family includes about 10 genera. This is a small, no longer than 15-20 cm, marine fish that have a thick-headed, flattened laterally body. The eyes of these fish are large, and the mouth very small. Dorsal fin single. Fish of this family are distinguished by the fact that they have fusion ninepatch in a single bone plate and the presence of only one nostril on each side of the head. Coloring pomaranczowy sometimes combines the bright colors, but is usually quite faded and enlivened only dark stripes on a relatively dull background.
Although all pomacentridae live in the coastal zone at the bottom, they are quite diverse in ecology and behavior. This applies, in particular, of food: some species eat only animal or only plant foods, others are omnivorous or feed on detritus. At the Hawaiian Islands found 11 species of the family under consideration, some of which live only near certain corals to other areas of the bottom covered with solidified lava, and others, the most numerous, are caught in abundance over any hard bottom.
Madreperla family (cirrhitidae)
In this collection bring together nine genera.
Madreperla— small (their length varies from 8 to 25 cm) predatory fish of shallow coastal waters, living among corals and rocks. This tropical marine fish living off the coast of the Pacific and Indian oceans. They have moderately elongated and slightly laterally compressed body covered with small scales. Fin spines well developed, the caudal fin is devoid of the tenderloin. Very characteristic features of kurierov serve the structure of the pectoral fin, the lower rays not branched and not connected by membrane thickened ends and the presence of fringed appendages behind the back of the nasal passage. Typically, these fish have bright, often contrasting colors. All kurapary have tasty meat, and the largest of these are highly valued as food fish.
To the family jakirovic belong to 6 genera and about 15 species.
Gukasova have a massive body, a small mouth with thick lips, undivided dorsal fin, the front half of which consists of spines, and forked tail. Lower rays of pectoral fin more or less elongated so that the ends are free from membrane, protrude beyond the edge of the fin. In some species these long rays are a kind of tentacles. Gukasova live both in shallow water and at considerable depth. Many members of this family serve as objects of fishery.
Family apologie (cepolidae)
This family contains only two kinds of with few types.
Apologia — sea fish living in coastal pelagic zone. They have a very long body, gradually tapering towards the posterior end, and strongly compressed laterally. Scales very small. Long dorsal and anal fins are devoid of spiny rays, merge with the tail. All apologie have a bright color, which is dominated by different shades of red.
These fish have no commercial value, though it can be used in food.
